Is it still winter? Well it is here in Vancouver and our skin is definitely feeling the effects pretty seriously. The dry weather does a number on our sun-seeking (and constant searching) skin. So what happens? Well basically when your skin is thirsty for some moisture and the environmental humidity is low, the two combined result in some not-so-great effects that can become a serious problem. Itchiness, roughness, painful cracks are but a few we struggle with.

So the first step, admit you have a problem. That’s right ladies, stop pretending your summer skin regimen will work for your arid skin.

So here’s what you can do:
1. Add a moisturizer to your routine and not just for your face (we recommend beU Retinol Anti Aging Moisturizer for your face). Be sure to cover your whole body – your hands and feet suffer too.
2. Treat your skin to a super hydrating mask – our beU Bee Venom Anti Aging Mask is an effective treatment that can help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, for a firmer youthful looking skin.
3. Use less soap. Listen, we know washing your hands is essential but maybe try a little less soap, especially in the winter as it tends to suck out extra moisture.
4. Ever wonder why a hot shower makes your skin feel even drier? It’s because water can actually worsen the situation and strip the protective oils from your skin, leaving it exposed to drying. So shorten that shower to less than 10 minutes. And replace hot water with warm.
5. Add additional hydration. We recommend beU’s Jojoba Anti Aging Serum, its an all natural and organic serum that will give you the extra moisture your skin is craving! A few drops goes a long way.

With these few changes, you’ll get through the winter and be running into Spring with a glow!
